Want to know one of the best ways to improve your health, mood and general well being? If you haven’t guessed what it is yet, check the title of the article again.
Most of us work day jobs, typically indoors and the only real outside time we get is on our way to and from our cars. Most people know the benefits of sun exposure and getting some fresh air but again we see “justification” popping up. Having the windows open or walking out in the sun to get the mail is just not enough, but on a day to day basis this is all most people get.
Even worse, on the weekend when we feel like we have the daytime available to us we often sit indoors, or go somewhere to do indoor activities. Most martial arts schools and yoga schools are indoors when in truth doing these activites outside would be much better for you.
My recommendation to you is this: if you don’t have time for outdoor activity everyday try to talk a brief walk (5-15 minutes) before or after work while the sun is up. If possible, do both, and consider spending a few minutes of your lunch break walking in the sun and fresh air.
The benefits of being outdoors can immediately be seen and felt in your health and mood, especially if you spend yourtime outdoors doing something like training or walking. If you are feeling sick or have a cold you will find a light walk out in the sun and breeze can really improve your mood and the fresh air is an excellent ingredient in the medicine of your recovery.
Now go outside.
